inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo announced the achievement of drug eradication efforts by his institution from 2020 to 2024. In his statement, his party has seized a total drugs worth of IDR 31.8 trillion and saved around 262 million lives from the danger of drugs.
“INP continues to committed in acting firmly against drug criminals and eradicating drug flows to its roots,” says INP Chief on Monday (11/11/2024).
Furthermore, there are 264,188 suspects that have been arrested by the police in drug cases from 2020-2024.
The Chief of Police said that there were assets worth around Rp1.55 trillion confiscated in relation to drug cases. Sigit also explained the grand strategy and roadmap for drug eradication.
There are short, medium and long term plans. The short term plan (1-2 years) includes guarding border areas, digital transformation, improving the quality of investigators and increasing the number of drug-free villages.
"The medium term plan (3-5 years) is to develop a drug special task force in all regional police and 75% of sub-regional police. We will also implement a drug distribution analysis and mapping system on the dark web, increasing the capacity of the forensic laboratory to analyze new types of drugs, realizing drug-free villages and increasing international cooperation," explained the Chief of Police.
For the long term plan(6-10 years), the Police will utilize technology in digital forensic analysis and network mapping, developing a special task force in all sub-regional police, strengthening drug-free villages and establishing a research center and developing a drug eradication strategy.
Finally, police will also establish cooperation with several countries to prevent the illicit trafficking of drugs.
