Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has named three judges as suspects in the bribery case linked to the acquittal of Gregorius Ronald Tannur, the son of former member of the House of Representatives (DPR) Edward Tannur, who was accused of murdering Dini Sera Afriyanti.

On Wednesday (23/10/2024), Abdul Qohar, the AGO’s Director of Special Crimes, announced that judges Erintuah Damanik, Heru Hanindyo, and Mangapul are suspected of accepting bribes.

"We have enough evidence of corruption related to bribery," he said. "This is a serious matter, and we will ensure that justice is served."

All three judges work at the Surabaya District Court. The Attorney General’s Office has also named a Ronald Tannur's lawyer, identified as LR, a suspect.

The investigation started after concerns arose about the judges' decision to acquit Ronald. Investigators conducted searches at six locations, seizing billions of rupiah in cash and electronic evidence.

The judges were arrested in Surabaya, while lawyer LR was detained in Jakarta. They face charges under the Anti-Corruption Law, and the judges are held in a Surabaya detention center, while LR is in Salemba prison.

Ronald was previously acquitted, with the judges claiming the victim's death was due to excessive alcohol consumption, not assault.
