inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman emphasized the importance of food security in the face of climate change and global geopolitical crisis challenges to support national food sustainability.
"The government is accelerating the self-sufficiency program to maintain national food security amidst the threat of climate change and geopolitical crises," the Minister of Agriculture emphasized.
Furthermore, Andi reveals that his party has worked together with the national security forces, the Indonesian National Army (TNI) and Indonesian National Police (INP) to realize national food security. He said that for rice commodities, the Ministry of Agriculture collaborates with the TNI. While for corn commodities, the Ministry of Agriculture synergizes with INP.
"Indonesia has a potential land for corn of 1.2 million hectares and we need to monitor this together to maintain food stock amidst various global challenges," said the Minister of Agriculture.
To support the corn self-sufficiency program, the Ministry of Agriculture has prepared various production facilities, such as seeds, fertilizers, and agricultural tools and machinery.
In his closing statement, Andi further emphasized the importance of collaboration to make the corn self-sufficiency program a success and committed to see this effort to its completion.
