The police stated their coordination with the Ministry of Religious Affairs regarding the audit of the BOS funds for the Islamic Education Foundation (YPI) in the period of 2022-2023 and the audit of the period 2017-2020 belonging to Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding School. Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, the Head of Public Affairs Bureau at the Public Relations Division of the Indonesian National Police (INP), stated that coordination was also conducted with the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research, and Technology. He revealed that the coordination with both ministries shared a lack of synchronization. "We found information that there is no list of Vocational High School (SMK) programs under the name of YPI Al-Zaytun," he said on Tuesday (25/7/23). He explained that the West Java Education Office will conduct an investigation regarding the possibility of SMK programs under the name of YPI or Al-Zaytun. The findings will serve as additional evidence for the investigators at the Directorate of General Crimes of the INP for further proceedings. "In addition, there will also be an audit of the alleged collection of zakat by Al-Zaytun or affiliated parties, which will be conducted by the Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, in collaboration with the Directorate of Zakat and Waqf Empowerment," he concluded.
