Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. Bali Regional Police have called on motorcycle rental businesses to actively educate foreign tourists on local traffic laws and road safety during Operasi Patuh Agung, running from 14 to 27 July 2025.

“We urge rental companies to explain traffic rules and road restrictions clearly so that foreign nationals understand and follow the law while riding in Bali,” said Bali Traffic Police Director Senior Superintendent Turmudi on Monday (14/7/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

In 2024, Bali recorded 8,256 traffic accidents, a 14.28% increase from the previous year, with 622 deaths and over 10,000 injuries. Among the casualties were 142 foreign citizens, including 21 fatalities.

The operation deploys 1,067 officers to enforce violations like phone use while driving, riding without helmets or seatbelts, driving against traffic, underage riders, and overloading.

Authorities stress that many violations are preventable and pose high risks for serious accidents involving both domestic and international tourists.
