Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) has partnered with various social media platforms, including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, in preparation for the 2024 General Election.

Highlighting the significance of campaign-related violations on social media, Bawaslu Commissioner Lolly Suhenty emphasized the agency's commitment to mitigating the potential for societal unrest by proactively preventing such violations in social media campaigns.

"We are collaborating with social media platforms, such as TikTok, Twitter, and Facebook to address this issue and raise awareness about its potential to create unrest," she said on Monday (3/7/23).

Bawaslu is also working closely with the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kemenkominfo) to monitor campaign violations on social media. They have established a dedicated task force to oversee and identify potential violations on these platforms.

"In light of these viral incidents, we collaborate with social media platforms as we do not have the regulatory authority, which lies with the Kemenkominfo. Hence, the establishment of the task force," she explained.

She urged the public to contribute by reporting social media accounts belonging to political parties or candidates that engage in violations, particularly during the campaign period leading up to the 2024 General Election.

"If you come across viral content, please send it and tag Bawaslu. We will promptly conduct an assessment," she concluded.
