Inp.polri.go.id – North Sumatra. Ranks of North Sumatra Regional Police urged to continue their best effort in preventing the state younger generations to be swayed by radical and anarchist ideology. The statement was said by National Counter-Terrorism Agency Chairperson, Mohammed Rycko Amelza Dahniel during his visit to North Sumatra Regional Police HQ on Tuesday (1/23/2024).
“If you want to crush a country, you pit them against each other, dissolve their tolerance, and target their young generations. Which is why, we have to protect our young generations from radical ideologies. Always stay vigilant in defending our country,” said Rycko.
Rycko continues that the core elements of vile ideologies is intolerance, and it would be a serious threat to Indonesia if the younger generations affected by the ideology.
“You could imagine what happen to our country if the younger generations is affected by those ideologies? We have to understand and always remember that our country is built from differences,” said Rycko.
In addition, Rycko said that the zero-attack phenomenon in 2023 was a warning that there are terrorism seeds in the country.
In response to the statement, North Sumatra Regional Police Chief Inspector General Agung Settya Imam Effendi states that his party is ready to prevent the spread of hazardous ideologies along with the military.
