Inp.polri.go.id - Yogyakarta.   Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman confirmed on Tuesday (29/7/2025) that 26 rice brands from 10 companies are now under police investigation for alleged rice adulteration. 

The brands are accused of falsely labeling low-grade rice as premium, inflating prices illegally.

"Ten companies are involved, with 26 brands already escalated to the investigation stage," said Minister Amran during a press briefing at Kepatihan Complex, Yogyakarta, as quoted by antaranews.com.

So far, 212 brands are suspected of being linked to the fraud, with some cases already handled by police and prosecutors. President Prabowo Subianto has ordered firm legal action, citing up to Rp 100 trillion in annual losses. The President stressed that such practices undermine food integrity and harm the public.
