Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. The body of First Brigadier Abraham Yerisitouw from Asmat Sub-regional Police was evacuated to Jayapura via Timika on Monday (3/11/2025)), Asmat Police Chief Superintendent Wahyu Basuki confirmed.

“The body is now at the family residence in Doyo, Jayapura Regency,” he told antaranews.com.

Officer Abraham was killed while responding to a disturbance involving an intoxicated man on Sunday along Jalan PLN Baru street. He and two colleagues, second Brigadier Rahmad Hidayat and Second Brigadier Faisal Darus, arrived at the scene on patrol motorcycles when the suspect suddenly attacked him with a machete.

“Abraham tried to escape, but the suspect, Simon Ufi, then attempted to attack the other officers. He has since been arrested and is now in custody at Asmat Police Headquarters in Agats,” Chief Wahyu said.
