Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Vice Head of the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP) Karjono Atmoharsono underscored the critical significance of internalizing the values of Pancasila in cultivating the national character competence of civil servants (ASN) in Indonesia.

"In our pursuit of this objective, education must prioritize the nurturing of character grounded in the principles of Pancasila," he said on Friday (9/6/2023).

He firmly asserted that the endeavor to enlighten the nation encompasses more than the mere intellectual development. It also entails the establishment of a resilient character firmly rooted in the esteemed values of Pancasila.

In addition, he emphasized the concrete steps being taken to cultivate the nation's character based on the values of Pancasila, specifically through the implementation of Pancasila Ideology Development (PIP) training for ASN, in accordance with the provisions outlined in BPIP Regulation Number 2 of 2020.

Expressing his concern about the survey findings from the Setara Institute, which revealed that approximately 83.3 percent of high school students believe that Pancasila can be altered, he stated, "In this era of globalization, millennials are particularly vulnerable to the influence of radical ideologies through social media, leading to a gradual erosion of Pancasila ideology."

Lastly, he emphasized the utmost importance of integrity, stating, "A competent leader prioritizes the cultivation of unwavering integrity, encompassing both ethical conduct and moral values."
