Bukittinggi Police Aid Mount Marapi Disaster Response

Inp.polri.go.id -  Bukittinggi.  The Bukittinggi Sub-regional Police has provided logistical support and dispatched police officers to assist in disaster mitigation efforts for Mount Marapi, which is currently at alert status due to ongoing eruptions. "Logistics will be provided for Mount Marapi officers, volunteers and local residents. In addition, we have deployed 10 officers to the posts and nearest police stations, as well as community policing officers and on-call emergency officers," said Senior Superintendent Yessi Kurniati, the Chief of Bukittinggi Police, on Sunday (14/1/2024). She personally inspected the closest Mount Marapi post in Jorong Limo Kampung Sungai Pua, Agam, as an expression of care and support for the entire disaster response team working diligently in the face of the emergency eruption situation, antaranews.com reported. The aid is expected to facilitate the operation of the disaster response and meet the basic needs of both the disaster response team and the local community. The status of Mount Marapi has been intensively monitored by  the police, the Indonesian Military,, the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) and other related institutions. (mg/inp/pr/nm)
