Central Kalimantan Police Arrest Suspect Following Misuse of HPK Area

Inp.polri.go.id – Central Kalimantan. The Central Kalimantan Regional Police confiscate a permit document from MitraTala company along with the evidence of pile of coals in the Converted Production Forest (HPK). The confiscation is based on the allegation of criminal actions in the shipping and forestry sectors. Apart from that, investigators have also arrested HF, Director of the company. “Based on our initial investigation, MitraTala have been mining coal in the Converted Production Forest in Telang Baru Village, Bartim district without borrow-to-use forest area permit (IPPKH) from the Ministry of Forestry since March 2022,” said Central Kalimantan Regional Police Public Relations Chief, Senior Superintendent Erlan Munaji on Wednesday (1/31/2024). Furthermore, HF will be charged with multiple articles including Article 78 paragraph (3) Jo Article 50 paragraph (2) letter a Law Number 41 of 1999 concerning Forestry as amended by Law Number 19 of 2004 concerning Determination of Government Regulations and Law Number 2 of 2022 concerning Job Creation become Law and/or Article 300 Jo. Article 105 Law Number 17 of 2008 concerning Shipping. “HF will be facing maximum imprisonment for 10 years and maximum fine of IDR 7.5 billion for his criminal actions in forestry. HF will also face a maximum imprisonment of two years and maximum fine of IDR 300 million for his shipping criminal actions,” said the PR Chief. (ad/ndt/pr/nm)
