Metro Jaya Regional Police to launch investigation following the riot in Association of Indonesian Village Governments (APDESI) rally in front of DPR RI building on Wednesday (1/31/2024). “Yes, obviously we will investigate as we have the documentations. But we are not going to do it in rush,” states Metro Jaya Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Karyoto on Wednesday (1/31/2024). Karyoto reveals that as of now the police have not apprehend the suspect of the riot, however the police suspect they have prepared the tools for the riot. “Yesterday our members indeed found around 30 tires have been prepared by the mass, thankfully they did not have the time to burn them all, because you can imagine how thick the smoke would be if all of it were burned, it would definitely caused public disturbances,” adds Karyoto. Moreover, he also informed no police members were harmed in dispersing the riot although they were thrown with stones and bottles by the riot. The rally initially has also road blocked Dalam Kota Toll Road, fortunately the poplice could drive them back and reopen the toll access.
