Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Central Kalimantan Regional Police Marine and Air Unit continue to maintain the conducive situation in its water areas. One of the efforts carried out by the unit is by disseminating the campaign of Stop Illegal Fishing in Buntok Seberang Village, South Barito Regency on Saturday (4/27/2024).

The Director of the Marine and Air Unit, Senior Superintendent Handono Subiakto says that the message is part of their effort in inviting the people to protect the Barito River environment.

Additionally, Subiakto says that the dissemination effort is also part of their first step in protecting the river ecosystem and preventing criminal actions that might happen.

“We implore the public to work together in preserving the nature and the ecosystem of the fish by not doing any illegal fishing, such as by Hela trawls, towed trawls and fish stun equipment. The illegal methods can significantly damage the ecosystem in the river,” explain Subiakto.
