Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian National Police stated that 1,864 cases are solved through restorative justice during 100 working days of Police General Lisyto Sigit Prabowo acting as Chief of Indonesian National Police. "1,864 said cases are solved in each Regional Police", Chief of Public Relations and Press Division of Indonesian National Police, Police Inspector General Argo Yuwono stated during the press conference of Chief of Indonesian National Police's 100th day of performance in Public Relations Building of Indonesian National Police, South Jakarta, Monday (17/4/21). Police Inspector General Argo Yuwono said that his team is formulating Police Regulation on regulating restorative justice in the Bhayangkara Corps related to this approach. "We will formulate the police regulations related to restorative justice implementations in handling criminal offences", Chief of Public Relations and Press Division of Indonesian National Police said. Chief of Public Relations and Press Division also added that this restorative approach is already implemented in several cases across Indonesia. For example, several cases in General Criminal Offences Directorate, Special Economic Criminal Offences Directorate, and Cyber Criminal Offences Directorate under the Criminal Investigation Agency have solved through restorative justice. Furthermore, there are several other cases across the country that used the same approach. Restorative justice enables officers to take discretive action so that both reporter and the reported parties can make peace. "For example, cases such as a grandmother stealing cotton. That action can be solved using restorative justice. That will not be a problem", the Chief of Public Relations and Press Division said.
