Chief of North Sumatra Regional Police Forms Investigation Team Regarding Fuel Oil (BBM) Scarcity

Chief of North Sumatra Regional Police, Police Inspector General Panca Putra Simanjuntak has formed a team to investigate the causes of the Fuel Oil (BBM) scarcity in North Sumatra. The North Sumatra Regional Police have also summoned Pertamina's management for an explanation regarding the scarcity. "The results of our investigations for the past few days have indeed occurred. Therefore, we have invited Pertamina to explain the cause of the shortage. Therefore, the plan is to be summoned to the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation today," explained Police Inspector General Panca Putra Simanjuntak, Friday (15/10/21). Chief of North Sumatra Regional Police promised to open up transparently to the public regarding the clarification results. "What happened, of course, Pertamina knows better. So later, after we get the Special Crime, we will convey the results," he concluded. Meanwhile, regarding the alleged indication of a mafia game that hoarded BBM to cause this scarcity, Police Inspector General Panca asked businessmen not to take the opportunity in society's condition, which is currently still tricky due to the impact of the Covid-19 Pandemic. "For entrepreneurs who try to take advantage of the limited distribution of fuel, especially in the North Sumatra region, I say there is no mercy for those who try to take advantage. I will take firm action because the community must be prioritized so that everything runs smoothly, especially economic activities," said Two Stars General.
