inp.polri.go.id - A total of 10 people with cleft lip and cleft palate underwent surgery which is planned to be held for two days, starting from Friday (10/06/22) until tomorrow Saturday (11/06/22). The free surgery which took place at the Bhayangkara Hospital of West Sulawesi Police is one of a series of celebrations for the 76th anniversary of Bhayangkara which will fall on 1st July. In its implementation, the West Sulawesi Regional Police Chief (Kapolda Sulbar), Inspector General Drs. Verdianto Iskandar Bitticaca, M.Hum., took his time to visit and deliver gifts to patients and their families. Head of Public Relations (Kabid Humas) of the West Sulawesi Regional Police (Polda Sumbar), Commissioner Syamsu Ridwan, who accompanied Kapolda Sulbar, said that this activity was in collaboration with the Indonesian National Police, the Association of Indonesian Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (PABMI), and Smile Train Indonesia. He revealed that the cleft lip surgery is an annual agenda of Polda Sulbar which aims to bring the community closer to the Police and to bring a smile to the community. "The 76th Bhayangkara Day is getting closer day by day, so this activity is one of a series to enliven it. This is also one of the annual routine agendas of our Medical Health Division," explained Kabid Humas Polda Sulbar. “Even though we still have to undergo surgery, we hope that what we are doing can foster the hope of a "new smile", not only for the patients but also for their families," concluded Kabid Humas Polda Sulbar.
