Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) reported that several areas in North Jakarta were affected by tidal flooding (rob) on Sunday morning (17/11/2024) due to a supermoon phenomenon.
“As of 11 am, five neighborhoods in North Jakarta have been impacted,” North Jakarta BPBD Head, Isnawa Adji, said, as reported by antaranews,.com.
Three of the affected neighborhoods are in Pluit, Penjaringan District, where water levels ranged from 20 to 48 centimeters. Two other neighborhoods in Marunda, Cilincing District, reported flooding at approximately 10 centimeters.
Tidal floods also disrupted traffic on key roads, including Jalan RE Martadinata in front of Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) in Papanggo, Tanjung Priok, where water levels reached 20 centimeters. The Hiu Street and Cumi Street in Muara Baru, Penjaringan, recorded 15 and 10 centimeters of water, respectively.
The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) had previously issued a coastal flood warning for 14 to 21 November 2024, citing high tides coinciding with the new moon.
