Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Special Detachment 88 (Densus 88) arrested four Uzbekistan nationals for their alleged involvement in propaganda on social media on Friday (24/3/23). The Head of Public Information Bureau of the Public Relations Division of Indonesian National Police (INP) Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadha explained that the suspects were identified as BA (32), OM (28), BK (40), and MR (26).
During a press conference on Tuesday (4/4/23), he stated that the suspects are believed to be involved with the international ISIS network and the Middle East. They were reportedly affiliated with the terrorist organization Katiba Tawhid Val Jihad, which is active in the Middle East, particularly in Syria.
He further revealed that BA organized the group's recruitment and facilitated the dissemination of propaganda on social media. MR was involved in carrying out several acts of terror in an Asian country. OM supported and was actively monitored in the organization, while BK provided assistance to his three colleagues in creating false documents and financial support.
