The Mayor of Solo, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, explained that this was a very good opportunity to introduce Solo to the global market. "This has been a very long preparation. For the past year we have had a program with the SME Shopee Export Solo Campus and here we have the opportunity to bring our best products to Paris. We also have the opportunity for our artists to perform in Paris. So we really want to introduce the city of Solo to the eyes of the world," said the Mayor of Solo, Tuesday (7/6/2022). He conveyed this in the talkshow “The Fruit of the Nation in Paris” which was held at the Indonesian Embassy in Paris. This event is an event entitled 'Java in Paris', where dozens of SMEs from Solo will be present at Le BHV Marais for more than a month. Le BHV Marais is one of the largest shopping centers in the City of Paris and also a network of Galerie Lafayette. Thousands of products that will be sold in Paris automatically pass the curation carried out by Le BHV Marais. Gibran said this opportunity would be used to further introduce Batik Solo in Paris, which is the world's fashion center. "We will bring everything, our best products. I used to guide directly BHV Marais to Batik factories and craftsmen in Solo. This is so that they know the process, history, and philosophy of the existing motifs," he added. The event, which is scheduled to start on June 8 to July 17, 2022, will also involve a number of arts and cultural workers under the tutelage of Solo choreographer and culturalist Eko Pece, who will also perform a variety of Javanese dances.
