inp.polri.go.id - Balikpapan. The East Kalimantan Regional Police held a cross-sectoral coordination meeting ahead of the 2024 Regional Head Election at the provincial, district and city levels in Balikpapan,Tuesday (8/20/24).

“Through coordination, we consolidate and unify our perception to face the simultaneous election that will be held soon,” said East Kalimantan Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Nanang Avianto.

The meeting will prepare various preparation initiatives for the Regional Head Election process from its planning, implementation, to the post-election phase.

“We have communicated with all parties from the police and military, the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum, and also other related stakeholders,” adds Nanang.

On the other hand, Nanang notes that East Kalimantan has completed a number of major national agendas such as the 2024 Election, as well as support for the August 17th, 2024 Ceremony in the Nusantara Capital City (IKN).

For a number of districts in East Kalimantan, the regional police are also analyzing and evaluating the implementation of the 2024 elections.

Moreover, East Kalimantan Regional Police will use two-third of its force to secure the 2024 Regional Head Election.

“Same goes for the military. They said that they have prepared their personnel for the election. Likewise the civil service police unit who has prepared their unit. We are aware that this is a simultaneous election, and preparation has to be made independently in our region,” conclude Nanang.
