Inp.polri.go.id - Semarang. The Police Academy (Akpol) in Semarang, Central Java, invites the public to explore its museum, which highlights the history of the Indonesian police force.

Located near the entrance gate, the modern museum is open to visitors free of charge, though group visits typically require prior arrangements. Officially inaugurated on 24 February 2024 by Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, it was transferred to the then-Akpol Governor, Inspector General Suroto, on 9 March 2023.

The museum offers a deep dive into the history of policing, featuring exhibits from the Dutch East Indies era and the Majapahit kingdom, including ancient weapons like spears. Visitors can view historical police equipment such as batons, handcuffs, pistols, rifles, and katanas, and see detailed wax figures in historical uniforms.

Notable exhibits include a wax statue of former President Sukarno presenting the police flag to Indonesia’s first police chief, Raden Said Soekanto, and displays about Akpol’s founding. The museum also features replicas of cadet barracks and an interactive marching band exhibit.

This museum serves as an educational resource for young people and the general public, offering insight into police history and Akpol’s role. The surrounding Akpol campus is serene and well-maintained, with ongoing cadet selection activities enhancing the visitor experience.
