inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A fake police officer with the rank of Commissioner-General (Komjen), YD (58), was arrested after defrauding a woman in the Duren Sawit area, East Jakarta.
The Head of the Duren Sawit Police (Kapolsek Duren Sawit), Commissioner Suyud said the fraud was carried out when both of them met at a bank.
"But it turned out that he was the perpetrator of fraud, and both of them met at the bank. The victim lost Rp1 billion," he explained, Saturday (5/3/22).
Commissioner Suyud did not give further explanation about the fraudulent actions carried out by the fake police. However, the perpetrators have been arrested and handed over to the Propam Polda Metro Jaya for further investigation.
Separately, East Jakarta Metro Police Chief (Kapolres Jakarta Timur) Commissioner Budi Sartono also confirmed the fraud committed by the fake police officer. After reporting the fraud, his party immediately started looking for the perpetrators.
After being arrested in the Setiabudi area, South Jakarta, the perpetrator could not show any evidence that he was a member of the police. "Yes, he is wearing a 3-star official dress. After further inspection, it turns out that the person in question is not a police officer. So we gave him to the Regional Police because there is an alleged fraud case," explained the Police Chief.
