inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani Indrawati issued a letter ordering ministries/institutions to carry out budget efficiency on 16 spending items.
In the letter numbered S-37/MK.02/2025, the Minister of Finance stated that the letter was a follow-up to Presidential Instruction of the Republic of Indonesia Number 1 of 2025.
Through the Presidential Instruction, President Prabowo Subianto asked Ministries and Institutions to make budgets efficient by up to IDR 256.1 trillion.
In order to accommodate these directives, the Minister of Finance has determined 16 spending items whose budgets need to be cut by varying percentages, ranging from 10 percent to 90 percent.
For the mechanism, ministers/heads of institutions can identify efficiency plans according to the percentages that have been set. The efficiency includes operational and non-operational spending.
The Minister of Finance emphasized that the identification of efficiency plans does not include employee spending and social assistance.
Ministers/institutional leaders are requested to submit efficiency plans to the Indonesian House of Representatives and report their approval to the Minister of Finance or the Director General of Budget no later than February 14th, 2025.
If by the specified deadline the minister/institutional leader has not submitted a revised report, the Ministry of Finance and the Directorate General of Budget (DJA) will include it in the notes on page IV A of the DIPA independently.
