Inp.polri.go.id - Meulaboh. The West Aceh district administration reported that five Rohingya refugees, who had been temporarily housed at the West Aceh District Office Complex, fled on Wednesday.
"These five Rohingya individuals are believed to have escaped in the middle of the night," said Arsil, the Head of the Public Order Division of the West Aceh district administration on Friday night (12/4/2024).
The refugees who fled are Anwar Khalek (13), Uddin Jossim (24), Amanullah Etadullah (34), Ullah Enaya (27), and a woman named Begum Surya (23).
Arsil said that they have not determined how the refugees managed to escape. However, he suspected it happened late at night when most refugees were asleep.
With these five refugees gone, the total number of refugees at the West Aceh district office is now 70.
