inp.polri.go.id - Palangka Raya. The Central Kalimantan Regional Police demonstrates its commitment in eradicating drug flow following the case disclosure involving the smuggling of 50.6 kilogram of meth.

During the press conference led by the Central Kalimantan Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Djoko Poerwanto, Superintendent Bronto and his team has successfully thwarted the drug flow and arrested the drug criminal suspect with the initials of W (33).

The seized drugs has been exterminated by the authorities at the Central Kalimantan Regional Police HQ on Tuesday (10/15/2024) at 10.00 am.

In his official statement, Djoko reveals that the drug confiscation begins during traffic operations in Trans Kalimantan Highway Km 4, Kujan Village, Bulik District, Lamandau Regency.

During the operation, the joint patrol team stopped a Toyota Calya Minibus type R4 unit with police number B 2742 UFC.

When the officers at the field stopped the car, the driver, suspect W, said that he was from West Kalimantan and was going to South Kalimantan Province to transport oil in a jerry can at the back.

"However, after further inspection by officers, it turned out that the jerry can did not contain oil, but rather a package in a black plastic," he explained.

Furthermore, Djoko revealed that after conducting an in-depth examination of the contents of the jerry can, 47 packages of crystal methamphetamine weighing 50.6 kilograms were found.

Then the alleged perpetrator was secured for further examination to uncover the whole scenario behind the drug smuggling.

For his actions, suspect W will be charged with Article 114 paragraph 2 or Article 112 paragraph 2 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia number 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics, with the threat of the death penalty or life imprisonment.

"This is proof of the Central Kalimantan Regional Police's commitment to eradicating drug flows in the province to save the people of Central Kalimantan,” concluded Djoko.
