Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  Former Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo  underwent a 12-hour cross-examination over an alleged extortion case involving former chief of anti-graft commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri at the Indonesian National Police Criminal Investigation Department on Thursday (11/1/2024). Dressed in a KPK detainee uniform, he completed completed the examination  at 10.58 pm, antaranews.com reported. Speaking to reporters, the former minister said that the information he gave during the interrogation was similar to what he had given in previous interrogations. "I have been giving what the investigators and others have been asking until midnight," Limpo said. He was questioned along with seven other witnesses. Two of them were the  former director of agricultural machinery at the Ministry of Agriculture, Muhammad Hatta , and the ministry's former secretary-general, Kasdi Subagyono. Limpo's legal adviser, Djamaluddin Koedoeboen, declined to give details of the investigation, citing the investigator's authority. However, he emphasised that all the confrontation questions between his client and others had been answered, ensuring consistency with previous statements and responses from all parties. According to Djamaluddin, the examination focused on the substantive issues of the ongoing investigation. In addition, Thursday's examination included corrections to Limpo's reports. (mg/inp/pr/nm)
