Former Vice President of Indonesia Received an Honourable Award from Japan

inp.polri.go.id – The 10th and 12th Vice Presidents of Indonesia, Dr. Drs. H. Muhammad Jusuf Kalla, received the highest award from the Japanese Government on Tuesday, the star of the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun. This award was given due to the contribution of Jusuf Kalla in improving the friendly relations between Japan and Indonesia while serving as Vice President of Indonesia. The 10th and 12th Vice Presidents are also known to have warm and close relations with the Japanese, both while serving in the government and outside. The awarding procession took place at the Imperial Palace of Japan and he was accompanied by his wife, Mufidah Jusuf Kalla, when entering the Imperial Palace area at around 09.30 Tokyo time, Japan. The award was also given directly by the Emperor of Japan Naruhito. The Jusuf Kalla’s spokesman, Husain Abdullah, said that the former Vice President of Indonesia wore traditional clothes from Teluk Belanga, Riau Islands, when receiving an award from the Japanese Government.
