Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Agricultural Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman says the government is pushing the pumping program as a quick solution in resolving agriculture issues. The step aims to water the dry field caused by El Nino. "I am optimistic that in the upcoming years, Indonesia is enough in supplies as the pumping program is designed for the future," says Minister Amran on Thursday (4/11/2024). The government, through Agriculture Minister, aims that the pumping could waters the field at least 500,000 hectares in Java Island and 500,000 hectares outside Java Island. Amran says the government also continuously optimized the swamp lands as a long-term plan, as he hopes that the 2024 Eid could be the trigger the revival of Indonesian supply production. "I always said that without foods, a nation could be in shambles as there would be many uprisings," Amran said. He is truly grateful as Indonesia has become one of the strongest nation in food sectors. In every year, Indonesia is able to meet it's food quota. "I am grateful we have enough food although there are many crisis on other states. We have to be grateful that Indonesia is able to weather that storm," explained Amran. (ad/ndt/pr/nm)
