Faiza Riani, the Head of Marketing and Communication at toll operator PT Jasa Marga Tbk, disclosed on Sunday (7/4/2024) that the traffic flow stemmed from four main toll gates: Cikupa (Merak direction), Ciawi (Puncak direction), Cikampek Main (Trans Java direction), and Kalihurip Main (Bandung direction).
Comparatively, the outbound traffic volume from Greater Jakarta surged by 41.73% from normal traffic or 569,735 vehicles. This represented a 12.97% increase from the previous year's Eid period, totaling 714,794 vehicles, according to antaranews.com.
The majority of vehicles departed towards the east (Trans Java and Bandung) with 462,710 vehicles (57.30%), followed by the west (Merak) with 209,582 vehicles (25.95%), and the south (Puncak) with 135,218 vehicles (16.75%).
Significantly, the peak traffic volume occurred from Tuesday to Friday, totaling 122,607 vehicles. This marked a 321.69% increase from normal traffic or 25.44% compared to Eid 2023 for the same period.
To support smooth outbound traffic, one-way traffic engineering has been in place, with police discretion from kilometer 72 Cipali Toll Road to kilometer 414 Batang-Semarang Toll Road.
Contraflow traffic has also been implemented on two lanes of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road from kilometer 47 to kilometer 70 at Cikampek Main Toll Gate.
