Yogyakarta Regional Police have dispatched joint team to respond the report of famous artists Butet Kartaredjasa after his WhatsApp account got hacked. “The respond by Yogyakarta Regional Police is part of police duty in responding to public report, including those from Butet. Joint team will be dispatch to investigate the hack allegation on his WhatsApp account,” says Yogyakarta Regional Police PR Chief, Senior Superintendent Nugroho Arianto on Sunday (12/10/2023). Nugroho adds that since last Saturday, the joint team of General Criminal Investigation Directorate and Special Criminal Investigation Directorate have found that the cellular number of Butet was linked to another device. “This is an illegal access on Butet WhatsApp account that could have been misused. Police will see through this case to its roots,” adds Nugroho. Thanks to the dispatched joint team, Butet has stated that his WhatsApp account was recovered after the help of his friend and cyber security unit of Yogyakarta Regional Police. (ad/ri/pr/nm)
