Head Of Security Maintenance Board Ensures Security for the ASEAN Summit is Ready Before the Guests Arrive

Inp.polri.go.id - Labuan Bajo. Head of the Security Maintenance Board, Police Commissioner General Mohammad Fadil Imran ensured that security for the 2023 ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) was ready. Security itself has started from 7-13 May 2023.

"Ministry-level delegations have started arriving on May 8, and heads of state on May 9. For all these activities, joint security has been prepared," he explained in Labuan Bajo, NTT, Saturday (6/5/23).

According to Fadil Imran, the security operation for the ASEAN Summit codenamed Ops Komodo 2023 involved staff from the National Police Headquarters, the NTT Regional Police, and several Regional Police ranks. There is around 2,627 personnel who will participate in the first inner ring with the Presidential Security Force, the second inner ring with members of the TNI to carry out regional security, and the third inner ring to secure the area.

On the other hand, he explained that the people of Labuan Bajo wanted to participate in the success of the 42nd ASEAN Summit.

"Regarding that, the NTT Regional Police Chief and I facilitated the declaration. This declaration is from various walks of life because they are fully aware that international activities like this also indirectly have the potential to become the backbone of tourism, as well as show the world that this area is safe, worth visiting," he said.
