inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi says Nusantara Capital City (IKN) Airport can officially operate.

This was revealed during the hearing session with Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives to discuss the 2025 Work Budget Plan (RKA).

“The airport can officially operate, but not yet for the public,” says Minister Budi on Monday (9/9/2024).

In his statement, the airport currently can only be used for official affairs such as President Joko Widodo who will use the airport for his move to IKN.

“Not that, not for VIP, but for government affairs. In early September, the airport will be used by the President,” says Minister Budi.

He concludes that the runway of IKN Airport has also been tested. The Ministry of Transportation is currently completing the 2,200  meter runway by the end of August and 3,000 meter in December 2024.
