Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Directorate General of Immigration of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights questioned 1,293 foreigners during the national Operation Jagratara Phase 2, held on 22 and 23 August 2024, across 507 locations in Indonesia.
Director of Immigration Supervision and Enforcement Safar M. Godam said on Thursday (29/8/2024) that 185 foreigners faced legal action.
“This operation reflects our commitment to maintaining national security. We will continue to intensify our supervision and enforcement against immigration violations,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com..
The operation focused on foreigners potentially violating immigration regulations, including misuse of stay permits, unauthorized work, and engaging in activities not aligned with their visa purposes. Among those identified, 48 were Nigerians, 37 Chinese, 15 each from Pakistan and India, with others from various countries.
The most common violations included overstaying and permit misuse.
“We will take strict action against any violations to ensure a conducive environment for law-abiding foreigners,” Godam emphasized.
