Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Head of Indonesian National Police (INP) Public Information Bureau, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko says the police have secured 142 suspects allegedly involved in online gambling in the last two weeks.

“The uncovering of online gambling cases from April 23rd to May 6th have disclosed 115 cases with a total suspect of 142,” said Trunoyudo on Tuesday (5/7/2024).

Other than securing the suspects, Police have also proposed for 2,862 online gambling sites to be permanently banned by the Communication and Informatics Ministry.

Trunoyudo stressed that the arrest of the suspect and the proposal for banning the websites is also part of police commitment in eradicating online gambling.

At the same occasion, Trunoyudo also explains the plan of forming the Online Gambling Eradication Task Force. Police are also ready to collaborate with the related stakeholders in eradicating online gambling.
