Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Metro Jaya Regional Police urged the public not to take law into their own hands after thwarting criminal actions. People are instead implored to report to the police so that proper justice would be brought to the criminals.

“People are implored not to act recklessly after thwarting criminal actions as our state is a state of law where everything has been regulated by the law. If you caught a criminal, we strongly urged the people not to take the law into your hands,” says the Head of Metro Jaya Regional Police Public Relations, Senior Superintendent Ade Ary Syam Indradi on Wednesday (5/7/2024).

Ade hopes for neighborhood leaders to remind their people about the security messages. The police stressed the act of beatings is also an unlawful act.

Furthermore, Ade reminds the public to beware with motor theft cases and to install additional keys and improve their neighborhood security system. Metro Jaya Regional will also approach the public through Friday Sharing Session, Public Dialogue, and Halo Police.

“We also want to remind the potential legal threats against violators of taking the law into their own hands, including articles 351 or 170 of the Criminal Code, which need to be conveyed to residents," he explained.

In conclusion, Ade also stated that his party planned to properly appreciate those who are able to secure the criminals safely to the police to boost public awareness and attention.
