inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Communication and Digital (Menkomdigi) Meutya Hafid conveyed Indonesia's commitment to building inclusive governance of artificial intelligence (AI) development.

"Indonesia believes that AI governance must be based on justice, inclusivity, and security," said Minister Meutya on Monday (2/10/2025).

"We want to ensure that global AI policies not only reflect the interests of developed countries, but also take into account the realities of developing countries like Indonesia," continued Minister Meutya.

The Indonesian government emphasized the importance of an inclusive approach in global AI governance, which is in line with the main theme of the meeting, GPAI's Role in Building Inclusive Global Governance of AI.

Indonesia supports strengthening international coordination in AI development that is oriented towards public interest and social welfare.

"AI is a transformative force in the global economy, but we must ensure that no country is left behind in this digital revolution. Indonesia will continue to play an active role in global AI policy discussions to ensure safe, ethical, and inclusive AI for all," calls Meutya.

Meutya said that Indonesia is pushing for AI policies based on the principles of justice, inclusiveness, and security as well as the use of AI as a tool to support sustainable development.

"Indonesia's presence in this forum is not only to get a seat in the global discussion, but also to ensure that world AI policies reflect the interests of developing countries. AI must be managed with principles that place humans at the center of innovation," concluded Meutya.
