Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. In a joint operation on Friday (9/6/2023), the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Indonesian National Police (INP) and Customs and Excise conducted the destruction of narcotics evidence. The seized items included 75 kilograms of methamphetamine, over 50,000 ecstasy pills, 99,000 grams and 4 liters of precursors, and 200 caffeine capsules, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, the Head of Public Relations Division of the INP, confirmed.

He added that the evidence was obtained from seven cases involving a total of 12 suspects, stating, "These 12 suspects come from various locations, including Aceh, Riau, Tangerang, and Semarang."

He emphasized that the evidence destruction process was in accordance with the implementation of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics. Under this law, evidence that has been officially designated as narcotics by the public prosecutor's office must be promptly destroyed.

He said, "The evidence being destroyed today has received the official designation of narcotics from the public prosecutor's office. Therefore, based on this designation, the investigators carried out the destruction as per the established procedures."

He concluded by highlighting that the destruction process served the purpose of promoting transparency and ensuring public awareness of their commitment to implementing the law.
