Inp.polri.go.id - Banyuwangi. The Chief of the Indonesian National Police (INP), General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, opened the Tour of Kemala 2023 cycling race in Banyuwangi, East Java on Sunday (8/10/2023) that drew more than 1,400 participants.
During the event, the INP Chief, who serves as the Chairman of the Indonesian Cycling Association, commended Banyuwangi for its consistent hosting of numerous cycling events, including the international Tour de Banyuwangi Ijen, international BMX competitions, and downhill cycling contests in the vicinity of Mount Ijen.
Banyuwangi Regent Ipuk Fiestiandani extended her gratitude to the INP Chief for the trust in Banyuwangi as the venue for hosting national-level cycling events, highlighting the economic impact of the Tour of Kemala to Banyuwangi.
"Our hotels have been fully booked, and local small and medium-sized enterprises have seen increased sales in recent days. The Tour of Kemala has brought economic blessings to Banyuwangi," she was quoted by antaranews.com, adding that it has cemented Banyuwangi's position as a sports tourism destination, particularly in the realm of cycling.
The Tour of Kemala event was attended by the Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform Abdullah Azwar Anas, Bhayangkari Chairperson Juliati Listyo Sigit Prabowo, East Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Toni Harmanto, and some INP high-ranking officials
A collaborative effort between Kemala Bhayangkari and the Indonesian Cycling Association, the Tour of Kemala 2023 took place on October 7th and 8th, 2023. The Tour of Kemala 2023 featured two categories: the race category covering a distance of 128 kilometers and the fun bike category spanning 55 kilometers.
