Bali Provincial Government has planned their measures to support environmental sustainability during Archipelagic and Island States (AIS) Forum Summit that will be held on October 10th-11th, 2023. Same as other international event held in Bali, the regional government will authorize electric vehicle for supporting officials and the delegates. “Our colleagues from the police will use the electric vehicle during their patrol on AIS Forum Summit. Most vehicles in the venue will also use electric vehicle although it is not a must,” says Bali Province Regional Secretary Dewa Made Indra in an online press conference, Friday (6/10/23). Other measures is by using new renewable energy (EBT) for lighting used along the road. The light is the same infrastructures used and build during Indonesia G20 Summit which was held in Bali back in 2022. In providing comfortability to AIS Forum Summit delegates, Made Indra says that his party has coordinated with Badung Regency Environment and Hygiene Service (DLHK) to ensure cleanliness around Nusa Dua. DLHK will also patrol and authorize arrange waste disposal during the AIS Forum Summit and ensure that the disposal time does not coincide with the arrival of the AIS Forum Summit delegates. To the people of Bali, Made Indra asked for the collaboration in maintaining cleanliness for the comfort of the delegates and the whole public itself. The summit has confirmed there will be 32 states attending the meeting with 5 head of states confirmed will came directly. The 5 head of states are President of Micronesia, Prime Minister of Niue, Prime Minister of São Tomé and Príncipe, Prime Minister of Timor-Leste and Prime Minister of Tuvalu. The forum will raise the theme “Fostering Collaboration, Enabling Innovation for Our Ocean and Our Future” with the sub-theme of Blue Economy; Our Ocean, Our Future; dan Solidarity. (ad/ta/pr/nm)
