Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Traffic Corps of Indonesian National Police (INP) has confirmed the preparation of traffic engineering measures during the 43rd ASEAN Summit 2023. Scheduled to occur from September 5th to 7th, 2023, in Jakarta, the summit will be marked by security measures for the routes traversed by attending delegates. Brigadier General Aan Suhanan, the Director of Law Enforcement (Dirgakkum) of INP Traffic Corps, underlined the collaborative efforts between the INP and the Indonesian Military in executing security measures. He also emphasized the critical role of control officers in familiarizing themselves with the designated routes mapped out for the ASEAN Summit delegates. "The first standard for route security includes one four-wheeled vehicle and two two-wheeled vehicles for each guest country. The designated routes are coordinated with the Presidential Security Force," he said on Tuesday (29/8/23). He further emphasized the intricate technicalities involved in ensuring the safety and controlled passage of the visiting delegates. Stringent measures will involve temporarily halting vehicles at intersections to preempt any unauthorized access. He said that the security apparatus's scope extends beyond the delegates' routes, encompassing a broader protective shield against potential threats. "Lastly, we are also equipping our personnel with tools, including body cameras, to enhance their effectiveness. Through this Tactical Floor Game (TFG), we aim to provide a comprehensive overview to all stakeholders involved," he said. Earlier this week, the INP executed a Tactical Floor Game (TFG) to refine the security plan for the forthcoming ASEAN Summit. Held at the Metro Jaya Regional Police Headquarters on Monday (28/9/23), the event saw participation from notable figures, including the Chief of Metro Jaya Regional Police Inspector General Karyoto, the Vice Commander of Jakarta Military Area Command, the Head of Jayakarta Military Area Command Intelligence, and the Vice Mayor of South Jakarta representing the Acting Governor of Jakarta. Meanwhile, in a separate location, Admiral Erwin S. Aldedharma, the Commander of the Joint Regional Command I, presented a comprehensive security report to Admiral Yudo Margono, the Commander of the Indonesian Military. The report unveiled details of the Very Very Important Person (VVIP) Security Operation, spanning nine days and safeguarding high-profile individuals including the President, Vice President, and foreign delegates. Running from September 1st to 9th, 2023, across Jakarta, the operation involves multiple security tiers. The innermost ring will be managed by Presidential Security Force personnel, with subsequent rings coordinated by regional forces. Additionally, the Presidential Security Force executed a simulated security operation at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten, on August 28, 2023. The simulation aimed to ensure the readiness of personnel entrusted with escorting VVIP foreign delegates participating in the 43rd ASEAN Summit. (ay/hn/nm)
