Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo will be awarded the "Loka Praja Samrakshana" medal for his contributions to public safety and the development of the Indoneian National Police (INP). 

The award will be presented by the INP Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, during a ceremony at the Mobile Brigade Headquarters in Kelapa Dua, Depok, West Java, on Monday (14/10/2024).

Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, the INP Public Relations Division Head of Public Information Bureau, said on Sunday that the medal would be awarded during the security forces' parade for the inauguration of the elected President and Vice President of Indonesia.

Loka Praja Samrakshana, derived from Sanskrit, translates to the protection of society, nation, and state. Linguistics expert Atin Fitriana from the University of Indonesia explained that “loka” refers to a country or territory, while “praja” pertains to the people or society.

In a related event, President Jokowi will honor seven police units with the Nugraha Sakanti medal for their service to the nation during the security forces' parade for the inauguration of President-elect Prabowo Subianto and Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
