Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police(INP)’s Professionalism and Security (Propam) Division will take strict action against officers found to be engaging in political activities during the 2024 Regional Elections to align with regulations that mandate police neutrality in elections.
“Our main focus is on ensuring the neutrality of our personnel,” said Inspector General Abdul Karim, the INP Chief of Professionalism and Security (Propam) Division on Friday (27/9/2024).
He emphasized that every officer must adhere to this principle and reminded those seeking election positions to formally resign from the force.
"We will not hesitate to take firm action if any violations are found," Chief Abdul said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The INP Professionalism and Security Division has organized a national coordination meeting to outline strategies for maintaining neutrality and enforcing the law. The meeting also addressed internal issues related to discipline and ethics.
It remains open to public input, including feedback from social media.
“We welcome suggestions or even criticism from the public. This feedback helps us improve and maintain the integrity of the institution,” Chief Abdul added.
