The Head of Public Relations (PR) Division of the Indonesian National Police (INP) Inspector General Sandi Nugroho underscored the importance for all graduates of the Training and Education Institute of INP Science College (STIK Lemdiklat Polri) to be adequately prepared to confront the upcoming political year leading to the 2024 Elections, during the briefing session on Tuesday (6/6/23).

He highlighted the significance of social media for the graduates to consider in the build-up to this democratic event as it is crucial to recognize that first-time voters, particularly from the Gen-Z generation, heavily rely on social media platforms.

"It is expected that STIK Lemdiklat Polri graduates to effectively convey the national narrative to the young generation of Indonesia, thereby ensuring their access to a healthy democracy education," he stated.

He also stressed the need for the graduates and their families to exercise caution in their use of social media, refraining from utilizing it as a platform to flaunt opulence. It is undeniable that negative actions by a few members of the police force present a challenge that INP must actively minimize to safeguard the institution's reputation.

"It is essential for STIK Lemdiklat Polri graduates to recognize their responsibility as members of the INP to serve as role models for themselves, their families, and the community," he added.

In his closing remarks, he conveyed the need for graduates to proactively tackle various challenges during the year of politics, including hoaxes, hate speech, propaganda, and cybercrimes by fostering synergy and solidarity.
