inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. In the latest Transparency International report, the score of the Corruption Perception Index in Indonesia decreased 4 points to 34 in 2022, positioning Indonesia in 110th out of 180th countries surveyed.

There were three sources of data used for the index, namely the corruption in the political system, bribery in exports-imports, and questionable relationships between politicians and businesspersons.

Responding to the report, President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo expressed his confidence that the recent decline will not deter potential investors from investing in the nation.

The President’s statement was made in a press conference held at the Presidential Palace attended by Attorney General ST Burhanuddin, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Mahfud MD, Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission Firli Bahuri, and Chief of the Indonesian National Police (INP) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo on Tuesday (7/2/23).

The president acknowledged the importance of the CPI for the government officials and law enforcement to improve their efforts in eradicating corruption.

"I emphasize all government officials to improve the administrative and public service system that prioritizes transparency and accountability," he said.
