The match unfolded intensely from normal time to extra time, with the score persistently tied at 1-1. The deadlock led to a penalty shootout, antaranews.com reported. In this crucial phase, Jakarta sealed the win against their opponents, with all five of their penalty kicks finding the back of the net, while West Sumatera managed to score only three. “Their performance was above average considering their young age. The game was played in a fair and exciting manner, extending into extra time. Eventually, Jakarta emerged as champions through the penalty shootout,” said Muhammad, an Executive Committee member of the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI). Following the conclusion of Piala Soeratin U-17, he expressed hope that this youth tournament would nurture talented football prospects for Indonesia's future and serve as a gateway for young players to enter the professional football arena.
