inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo says his thanks to the people of Indonesia who have come together to overcome challenges and changes over the past 10 years strongly.

This was conveyed by the President during the Yearly Meeting and Joint Meeting of Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) and Regional Representatives Council (DPD) in the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta.

“To the people of Indonesia, who have been strong for the past 10 years in overcoming challenges after challenges, in taking step after step, and facing changes after changes, so that we as a proud country can reach this point,” said Jokowi on Friday (8/16/2024).

After leading the country for 10 years, he considers his position as the president as a responsibility and trust from the people that he never saw coming.

“This is a huge responsibility and mandate that we have never thought would come,” adds Jokowi.

He says since the day he was given the responsibility to lead the country, he is aware there will be challenges he will have to face and overcome.

However, Jokowi believes that he will not weather the storm alone. Prayers and wishes from the people are the strength that toughen the President to face all challenges.

“There are dreams and hopes of the people. There are prayers and support that continues to be delivered. Smiles, greets, and prayers from you are my source of strength,” concludes Jokowi.
