inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Joko Widodo inaugurates four road sections of the Sigli-Banda Aceh Toll Road on Monday (9/9/2024).

The inauguration of the toll road sections can improve the new economic potentials in the region.

“In the name of God, today I declare the Sigli-Banda Aceh Toll Road sections 2, 3, 5, and 6 are officially opened," said President Jokowi on Monday (9/9/2024).

The total length of the four toll road sections that were inaugurated are 35 kilometers (km) long, consisting of Section 2 Seulimeum-Jantho (6 km), Section 3 Jantho-Indrapuri (16 km), Section 5 Blang Bintang-Kuto Baru (8 km), and Section 6 Kuto Baru-Baitussalam (5 km).

He emphasized that infrastructure is very important for connectivity. Therefore, Jokowi says that he will continue to accelerate the construction of toll roads, including the construction of The 2,998 km long Trans Sumatra Toll Road from Lampung Province to Aceh Province.

“We hope that with the Trans Sumatra Toll Road, it would push the economic growth and economic equality in Sumatra Island and improve travel time efficiency, also increase the multiplier effect for the community," President Jokowi hoped.

He reveals that the four sections of Sigli-Banda Aceh Toll Roads construction has begun since 2019 and costs IDR 13.5 trillion.
