inp.polri.go.id – Yogyakarta. The National Police Chief (Kapolri), Drs. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, M.Sc., monitored the vaccine acceleration in 5,214 points across the 34 provinces of Indonesia. On this occasion, the National Police Chief directly attended the event at Sleman City Hall, Sleman Regency, DIY. On that occasion, Kapolri emphasized that, ahead of Ramadan, all regions in Indonesia must strengthen the acceleration of the third dose of vaccination or Booster. According to him, this is the key to preventing the surging cases of Covid-19. "We are about to enter the holy month of Ramadhan. We have to make sure that the community has carried out the vaccination properly. We hope that the third dose vaccination can be optimized because this is also the key," explained Kapolri at the Sleman City vaccination Hall, Sleman Regency, DIY, Friday (11/3/22). By optimizing the acceleration of vaccination, both doses I, II to III, it will further increase the immunity of the community against all types of existing Covid-19 variants. To achieve and exceed the existing targets, Kapolri emphasized that cooperation from all parties is needed. That way, community activities can run safely and the wheels of the economy will also continue to improve. “This requires cooperation from all of us to achieve our targets. We can do this by optimizing or accelerating complete vaccinations for the community so that the immunity reaches the target that we expect," stated the former Banten Police Chief. This is also part of the preparation of the Government's strategy to turn the Covid-19 Pandemic into an Endemic. To achieve this, the National Police Chief emphasized, several conditions must be met. Among them are the progress of vaccination, the death rate, and control of Covid-19 cases. "Soon there will be an evaluation related to the plan to shift the Pandemic to an Endemic. However, some conditions have to be met. One of them is controlling the mortality rate and vaccination rate," said Kapolri. If all elements join hands to pursue this target, Kapolri is optimistic and believes that the strategy to turn a Pandemic into an Endemic will soon be realized. "Of course, we have to be optimism, especially with strong obedience to the health protocols, we can make it realized," said the National Police Chief. On the other hand, Kapolri appreciated the Yogyakarta Special Region Forkopimda who had worked hard to accelerate vaccination. From the data he received, the National Police Chief said that the first dose in DIY was above 100 percent, while, the second dose reached above 97 percent. Currently, DIY is pursuing the target for Booster vaccination. "I am proud with DIY achievement. Because Yogyakarta is one of the famous tourist destinations, flocked with people doing homecoming visits, and also there is an international event that will be held here, we want to make sure that the whole series can run well. The people are already aware of the development of the new variant of Omicron. Because on average, all of them have been fully vaccinated. Of course, it will affect and have an impact on the conditions of economic growth in the Yogyakarta area, "explained the National Police Chief. In addition to reviewing vaccinations, the National Police Chief also gave directions to all regions to continue to accelerate vaccination and optimize the handling and control of the Covid-19 pandemic, virtually.
