Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Executive Director of Indonesian Police Strategic Studies Institute (Lemkapi) Edi Hasibuan welcomes the plan of Indonesian National Police (INP) in forming an employment special unit as their answer against its challenging and more complex issues.

“Labor and employment issues have caught the attention of the public and in the future it would be more complex and require capable experts in tackling them,” said Edi on Thursday (5/2/2024).

According to him, the issue of labor and employment, including labor rights, is often discussed in public. Therefore, thought Edi, the special unit that will be formed by the police will handle the matter thoroughly.

“They also need a comfortable working space and legal protection and justice,” said Edi.

Moreover, Edi assessed that the inauguration of Federation of Indonesian Trade Unions (FSPSI) President Andi Gani Nena Wea as the special staff of INP Chief in the employment sector could also boost police performance.

“INP Chief needs someone who understands labor and employment. He needs advice on the matter,” stressed Edi.

Previously, the INP Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo assured the duty of employment special staff is to help police in protecting laborers without interfering with other labor stakeholders.
